Bernd Wuschack, Managing Director of German premium manufacturer Cathargo recently launched its 2025 season models, has said that while the industry and motorhome buyers have been through a tough period, there are signs of normality returning with buyers, who have been waiting months for their new motorhomes now more likely to get them before the end of the year. With the market having fallen back almost a decade in terms of volume and now the main area of growth being campervans which now account for 57% of the market in Europe and the UK, most countries are now experiencing more stability and even some growth, with the UK market ending the year with 12,400 new motorhomes and campervan sales.
To cater for the expected increase in demand Britstops has launched a new app to make it easier to research and book places across the UK at over 1000 locations such as pubs, enabling users to book for free or the price of a nice meal.
The Caravan and Motorhome club meanwhile have dropped prices at 60 club campsites by up to 15% with 80 additional sites available to book at the same price or lower than they were last year. Members can still save £5 per night in the ‘Summer Getaways’ offer at 25 listed campsites when staying for 5 or 7 nights. The longer you stay the more you save says the club.
The Camping and Caravan club have recently raised the barrier at their new Nottingham site. The club completed the purchase of the campsite, previously called Thornton Holt Camping Park in November 2023. The 13.5 acre site can accommodate all regular units such as tents, caravans and motorhomes. The sites amenities include a coffee shop selling home made cakes, a site shop offering a range of essentials and a dedicated football and basketball play park for kids.
